This year, Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTWD), for grade 9 students across Canada, is being held on Wednesday, November 4^th, 2026.  

The Students Commission of Canada has provided material and activities to support this day.  There are virtual content including pre-recorded and live content, to appeal to diverse student interests and to support various school schedules for this event. We encourage grade 9s and their families to visit The Students Commission of Canada website and register for more information:

If students are planning to be away from school on November 4^th to pursue an opportunity, please review the attached document for the permission form that is required to excuse students from school.  The ‘Parent Permission Form’ must be completed, signed, and returned to the office by Wednesday, October 28^th.  Paper copies of the form will be given to students on Friday October 16 during Advisory, but can also be picked up in the office.  Signed forms can be emailed to macneill@sd38.bc.ca or dropped off in the main office.   

We encourage all grade 9 students to attend.  Students who do not return a signed permission form will be assumed to be attending school on November 4, 2026.
