Hello Ravens, The MacNeill Green Team is being nominated for SFU's Change Maker Award. Exciting news for all you readers out there: The library has more than twelve Reading Riot books available! Perfect timing for the weekend. Also, this is the day to get your ballots in. Are you a Grade 11 student interested in exploring a career working with children? Take the Intro to Early Childhood Education Program at Langara this September to December for FREE. Yes, the program tuition is covered by Richmond School District! The Langara courses count as your first semester electives (16 credits). You then return to your home school for second semester and graduate with your peers. Applications are due March 4th, but late applications will be considered. See the poster in the Career Centre for more info and the application QR code.

Attention Grade 10 – 11’s, This is a reminder for all senior students interested in applying for a school district dual credit program. The following program applications are due to the School District Career Programs Office:
Due March 4th is the Intro to Early Childhood Education Program application.
Due March 11th are applications for:
- Manufacturing & Engineering Co-op
- New KPU Biomedical & Health Science Program
- KPU Intro to Health Science Summer Course
All applications are found on the SD38 Career Programs website. Check the slat board in or near your counselling area for more details.
Please note there is one scholarship open to Gr 11 students. The deadline is MAR 31 2025 (3PM).
The Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship is valued at up to $25,000. Students must be:
Canadian Citizens
Family has financial need (family income under $65,000)
Overcome adversity
GPA of 70%
Committed to attending post secondary in Fall 2026

Week 7 of the Reading Riot has come to a close, leaving you with just over a month to earn those achievements! There are several books available, so hurry in! We have two weekly prize winners this time. The first is... James McVicar in grade 9! Our second winner is... Hannah Sorto in grade 10! Congratulations winners!! Come drop by the Library at lunch or after school to collect your prize. If your name wasn't drawn this time, don't worry! All ballots will be kept until the end of the Reading Riot and entered into our Grand Prize draw where you'll have even more chances to win. Read, rate, repeat!
