Dry After Grad 2027: This Is Your Event, Parents!

Attention MacNeill Parents, Families, and Caregivers.

As graduation approaches, planning is already underway for Dry After Grad (DAG) 2027, the all-night celebration that follows the Grad Dinner & Dance on June 24, 2027.

What many families may not realize is that Dry After Grad is not a school-run event. It is a parent-led tradition, planned, organized, and supervised entirely by parent volunteers. It exists because parents come together to create a safe, inclusive, and memorable celebration for our graduating students.

DAG provides graduates with an exciting, alcohol- and drug-free environment filled with entertainment, music, food, games, activities, prizes, and opportunities to celebrate one of the most significant milestones of their lives. The purpose of Dry Grad is to reduce risk, promote student safety, and allow graduates to enjoy an unforgettable night together.

Not a Grade 12 parent yet? We'd still love your help! One day your teenager will likely be excited to attend their own Dry After Grad celebration. Getting involved now is a great way to learn the ropes, share ideas, and help keep this important MacNeill tradition thriving for years to come.

We Need Our Grad 2027 Families

To make this event a reality, we need the support, energy, talents, and enthusiasm of our Grade 12 parent community. While we are grateful for the parents who have already stepped forward, there are still many volunteer opportunities available.

We are currently looking for support with:

  • DAG Chair or Co-Chairs
  • Secretary / Communications
  • Decorations
  • Bag Drop-Off
  • Donations & Sponsorships
  • Fundraising
  • Event Set-Up and Take-Down
  • Food & Beverages
  • Entertainment & Activities
  • Transportation / Buses
  • Red Carpet

There is a role for everyone. Whether you can help lead, volunteer for a few hours, work behind the scenes from home, connect us with potential sponsors, or make a donation, every contribution helps make this celebration possible.

Why Get Involved?

As noted in the Dry Grad planning materials, successful Dry Grads are built by dedicated parent volunteers who work together to create an event that reflects the tremendous achievement of graduating high school. Parents have traditionally been the driving force behind these celebrations, and the event can require many helping hands to bring it to life.

Join Us

We invite all Grade 12 families to attend our upcoming PAC meeting to learn more, meet other parents, and discover how you can help. There is no obligation to take on a role simply by attending.
