Bon Carnaval!

Students learned about the history of Carnaval, an international celebration which takes place every year in February or March. Many countries around the world have their own version Carnaval and add their unique touch to this famous celebration.

Our French teachers collaborated with the school's teacher librarian and together they organized 4 learning stations in honour of this upcoming celebration. These stations allowed students to learn about and experience the variations of Carnaval customs in an authentic and hands-on manner. Students displayed a lot of excitement working in smaller groups and learning about Carnaval in a non-traditional way.

Throughout our stations, students engaged in: French Mardi Gras pancake making, Italian Carnaval mask making, green screen photo making, and video watching on the school ipads.

Take a look for yourselves, we won't blame if you wish you could have joined in on the fun too! :)

Bon Carnaval!
