POST-SECONDARY & SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:
Most Grade 12 students and parents have questions about what to do next year and how to do it. MacNeill presents a variety of events to address these questions. Each fall, the school hosts both a Grade 12 Parent Info Night and a Post-Secondary Mini-Fair, and the District sponsors a large Canadian Universities Event. Various post-secondary schools also offer lunch time info sessions at different times throughout the year. Information regarding these opportunities can be found on the info board in the Counselling & Career Centre. Students should also bookmark and check regularly the Career Centre Web Site (http://www2.sd38.bc.ca/~CCNews@sd38.bc.ca). Facebook users can receive regular updates and reminders of important dates by clicking “like it” on Ms. Mayer’s Career Centre Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ms-Mayer-Career-Centre/333673583360594).
Counsellors and our Career Advisor visit senior classrooms prior to the PS Mini-Fair and during Program Planning to show students how to find post-secondary admission requirements, and offer an additional lunch time workshop. Students are also welcome to book an appointment to meet with their counsellor and/or our Career Information Advisor individually.
GRADE 12 STUDENT POST SECONDARY PLANNING SESSION - SEPTEMBER 22:
Most Grade 12 students attended an information session on September 22 during PLT. This session included information about planning for post secondary options for next year. The PPT for this session is included here.
