SC: Life Sciences 11 (Biology 11)

Course Description

Life Sciences 11 is a lab-oriented course that is concerned with developing an understanding of the complexity of organisms inhabiting the earth. Students will examine representative organisms from the Kingdoms of Life, paying special attention to the many similarities and differences, which serve to classify them into separate phyla. Students will be expected to develop an understanding of the systems and adaptations, which allow each of the representatives to survive on earth. Students will also study the ecology of these various organisms, relating adaptations to their specific niche or role in their environment.  Students will also investigate biology with living organisms through a field trip, possibly to the Vancouver Aquarium.
