PE: Physical Education 12 For Girls: Fit For Life
This course is designed for Girls Only. The purpose of creating a girls only physical education course is to create an atmosphere where girls feel more comfortable and confident to participate in physical activity. This course is geared to the interests of the students and designed to foster a positive attitude towards physical activity throughout one’s life. In addition to various games and dance, this course will expose students to a variety of activities such as yoga, Pilates, weight training, cycling, water aerobics, rock climbing, golf, bowling and hiking. Other topics we may explore are nutrition, eating disorders and first aid. The goal of this course is to encourage students to develop a personal life long plan for a balanced healthy lifestyle including nutrition, exercise, work and rest. Although a course fee will not be required, in order to participate in some of the activities listed above a charge may be required to cover the cost of the instructors, facilities and occasional transportation. Please note that students will only participate in these activities if they are willing to pay an optional activity enrichment fee.
