Grade 12 Students: Grad 2021 Scholarship Application

AR MacNeill Secondary awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating students each school year.  These awards, donated by the school, district, and community, recognize deserving students in a variety of areas including but not limited to academic excellence, service to the school and/or community, leadership, financial need, excellence in a chosen field of study, etc.  All grade 12 students are encouraged to submit a completed application. In order to be considered for school-based and district scholarships, students must complete this online application by  the NEW DATE: April 16th, 2021 at 3pm.  Finally, MacNeill students and families are also encouraged to pay their graduation fee of $50 and pay any outstanding school fees before April 16, 2021.

 

NOTE:  Falsification and/or misrepresentation of any information will automatically exclude applicants from consideration.

These awards, donated by the school, district, and community, recognize deserving students in a variety of areas including but not limited to academic excellence, service to the school and/or community, leadership, financial need, excellence in a chosen field of study, etc.  The criteria for each scholarship or bursary is unique. Some of the areas of consideration in the selection process include:

• Academic Achievement
• Service or participation in school events
• Service or participation in community events
• Citizenship
• Individual Character
• Commitment to Learning
• Volunteer Involvements
• Athletics involvements
• Fine Arts Involvements
• Intent to study at a post-secondary institution
• A specific field of post-secondary study (ex. Trades, Sciences, Arts etc.)
• Gender (ex. Canadian Federation of University Women Scholarship)
• Financial Need
• Family Affiliation (ex. BCTF affiliation for the Richmond Teacher’s Association Scholarship)
• Elementary School Alumni  (ex. Anderson Elementary alumni for the Anderson Elementary PAC Scholarship)

Other public and private organizations also offer scholarships. Please check the scholarship bulletin board in the Counselling Centre or the Career Centre for other possible scholarship application information. Ms. Mayer, our Career Advisor, is a great resource if you need assistance with external scholarship applications.
