Bell Schedule Revised Sept 2020

SCHEDULE FOR GRADE 8-9 CLASSES

Students will attend full-time, five days per week, with regular class sizes (30 or less)

All grade 8 students will enter the school through the C wing entry doors located near classroom 136 and D wing entry doors located near classroom 155 (the dance room).

All grade 9 students will enter the school through the A wing entry doors located near classroom 118 and the main entry doors at the front of the school.

Grade 8 and 9 students will be asked to use the closet door to their period B class when being dismissed and leaving the school at 2:45pm. We ask that students not loiter around after being dismissed.

Please note that if a student does not have their schedule of classes, we ask that those students meet in the lounge where they will be participating in the Health and Safety orientation training.

You will notice that the grade 8 and 9 students start their day 15 minutes later than the senior students, and end 15 minutes earlier. This has been done in order to stagger the arrival and departure times for our students.

Each of course A and B is split into 2 groups: A1 and A2; B1 and B2. Splits will be done alphabetically. For example, a student with the last name of Ali will be in A1 and B1 and a student with the last name of Wang will be in A2 and B2. Because Grade 10-12 students will not be at school over lunch, we must have A1 and B2 classes on one day and A2 and B1 on the other. The vast majority of students will have a morning class one day and an afternoon class the next. Note, some students with surnames in the middle like Li or Mohammed could be in A1 and B2, because of the alphabetical composition of the class. This would mean they would be at school over lunch, but the number of students in this case will be quite small. All Richmond secondary schools are following the same model. Please note that students MUST stick to their assigned groups for contract tracing and for safety purposes. There will be no switching in between groups. Students CANNOT drop into the other group because they missed their assigned class.
